Making Memories

I wanted to share with you some pictures of my youngest child a few years ago taken at his Christmas program. Garrett was in preschool. We went to Cracker Barrel afterwards. That is his favorite place to eat! I took this one of him in one of their rocking chairs out front on the porch. I think that he loves going there so much because of the warm feeling that you get there. Especially during the holidays.

He was in 4 year old preschool and they always put on the sweetest programs at that age. Isn't he a doll!?

Here he is pointing up to Heaven. On a sad note...his teacher sitting in the front row with her back to the audience passed away the next year form breast cancer. She was such a sweet lady and so sweet to both of my sons. She taught Cole too when he was little.

Here is Mrs. Jean in the back of the children singing with them. Garrett loves to sing and perform. I love these special times with my children. I love making memories with them.
I hope that you are enjoying making memores with your family this holiday season.

Christmas at Papaw's...2001

Sweet little Garrett at Papaw's house (my daddy) for Christmas 2001. This was his first Christmas. He was 7 months old.

He was so soft and cuddly in this outfit. All of his dark hair had fallen out and it was growing back blond. He was the sweetest baby! He is now 8 years old and he is still the sweetest little boy!
Tomorrow is the first day of Fall and I am so glad! This is my favorite time of year! Christmas will be here before we know it! I've already gotten most of my shopping done. Starting in November, I will post more on this blog.
Happy Fall, Y'all!!!

A Christmas long ago...

I found this photo of my mom and my little sister and my baby daughter. It was Christmas morning and Christy still had on her little flannel night gown. She was almost a year old. Her birthday is in January. My little sister was 10 years old. I made my mom a grandma at an early age. Now mama is a great grandma. My daughter Christy had her first baby and he is 1 year old. I love looking back at these old pictures.

Christmas Pageant

I was going through some old photos and ran across these that were taken years ago. Christy was 13 I think and Cole was around 5 years old. Christy was in a pageant that night at her school. It was a Christmas pageant. She didn't want to enter it after I told her that I didn't have the extra money to buy a new pageant dress. I had gotten her this one at a thrift shop. I told her to wear it and the judges would love it. She placed third. She couldn't believe it. I wonder if she still has this dress somewhere!?

Cole was in the Christmas pageant also. He won 1st place. He has his trophy in his hand. He was so funny up there on that stage. He took his jacket off and started posing and showing off his muscles!! I couldn't believe that he did that! The more the crowd laughed and clapped the more 'into' it he got! The principle said that she wanted to put it on 'America's Funniest Home Videos'!
I love finding these old pictures. They bring back so many memories.

Cole and Santa

I haven't posted on my Christmas blog in 5 weeks. I try to post at least once a month on here. Can you believe that we are half way through the year! Six more months 'til Christmas! I wanted to share this picture of Cole with Santa when he was around 3 years old. He was not a happy camper! Look at that face! The only way that I could get him to sit in Santa's lap was to let him hold my pen. As soon as the picture was taken, he wanted out of his lap! Cole will be 18 years old next month.

Has anyone done any Christmas shopping yet? I always try to start right after Christmas! Last year I was finished by September. It felt so good too! Because I work in retail, I have to work extra long hours during the holidays. When I get off everyday, I'm usually too tired to do much of anything. Last year it really helped me to have it all done early. I was able to enjoy the holidays more. I've gotten a good bit done so far. Today is my day off and my son Garrett and I are spending the whole day together. I'm taking him to the movies and out to eat. We really want to see the movie "UP". I hope that it is playing. Then after that, we are going to a couple of thrift shops. He loves to do that. He usually finds something that he just HAS to have! LOL He is a lot like his mama.

Garrett's 1st Christmas morning

Look at my sweet little Garrett on his first Christmas morning. He was so excited. I love this big smile that he has! I remember having to 'stuff' him in his Christmas p.j.s because they were almost too little for him. His little cheeks have been kissed so much in his 8 years! I hope that he never gets tired of it. LOL If he is anything like his brother Cole, he will always love it.

Garrett and his MaMaw Judy

This is my mom and Garrett on his first Christmas. (2001) I love this picture of them. It was Christmas night and we went to her house to eat Christmas supper. Mom makes the best turkey and dressing and giblet gravy! She had cooked all day long and was glad when we finally got there. She lives in Louisiana. Doesn't she look so pretty here? Garrett looked so sweet in his little Christmas outfit. He was 7 months old here.

Jason's First Christmas

I haven't done a post on my Christmas blog since January so I thought I would do one tonight. I remembered these precious pictures that I had taken of Stevie and my sweet grand baby, Jason on Christmas day. This was Jason's first Christmas. He looks like a doll in these pictures! Every time that Jason sees Stevie his little face lights up! He gets a huge smile on his face and so does Stevie!

Next Christmas he will really be 'into' it. He will be able to enjoy it more. He is 9 months old now and almost walking! It's hard to believe how fast time flies. I plan on posting on this blog at least once a month. Stop by again, if you can and please leave me a comment. Thanks!!

Little empty 'cottage' shop...

Look what we ran across last year. A little empty store called 'The Cottage' . It's in a little town about 45 miles from my cottage where I live. Oh how I wish the economy was better and I had the money to open my own shop. We rode by there recently and it is still empty and it has been almost a year.

Here I was standing in front of one of my favorite flower bushes. I just love Wisteria! They are so beautiful! I was a little bit scared and you can probably tell in the picture. There were bees flying all around me and I DO NOT like being around insects! I don't dislike them because I know they have a job to do and they are important. I just don't like getting too close to them.

Have a great Friday! Today is my day off and I'm gonna spend it with my son Cole. I might even get him to go to a couple of thrift shops with me. If I find anything good, I will post pictures. I have to go and check on my booth at the Vendor's mall and add a few things to it. I still have it but was able to move it closer to the front when a new space became available.

Sweet little Christmas find

I've decided to still post on my Christmas blog from time to time. I will post Christmas finds that I get at garage sales, thrift stores, etc. I'm going to try and organize my storage shed this year and weed out a few tings that I haven't used in a while and either put them in my vendor's booth or donate them. Any Christmas projects that I work on for this Christmas, I will post also. Maybe that will help me to remember to unpack and use them this coming holiday season. I also plan to start decorating a little earlier this year. Time snuck up on me this past year and I didn't get to use all of the decorations that I had planned to use. I found this pretty little Christmas tree musical thingy the other day at the thrift shop for $2.00. It plays a Christmas song and it lights up different colors. It also has a little clock at the bottom. I thought it was a neat find.

See Y'all again soon.
